The International School of Paris is a co-educational elementary and
secondary day school founded in 1964 as a non-profit association and
operated by a Board of Trustees (two-thirds appointed and one-third
elected by parents). The school is accredited by ECIS and NEASC and
is an overseas member of HMC.
Emphasizing individual attention, the class size is limited to
approximately 18 students. While the language of instruction is
English, all children receive daily lessons in French language,
history and culture. Classes in art, music and physical education
are part of the regular weekly schedule. Numerous after-school activities
are available, as well as a Summer School Programme. The school
organizes regular field trips benefiting from the environment of
Paris.
The school curriculum at International School of Paris follows
models used by major international schools around the world. In
the secondary school the curriculum in the first five years leads
towards the Cambridge University IGCSE exams. In the last two years
all students take courses leading to the International Baccalaureate
examination and may also take SAT. The school is implementing the
IB PYP and MYP.
The student body at International School of Paris represents 54
nationalities and most of the students have parents working for
international organizations - UNESCO, OECD, embassies or multinational
companies.
The International School of Paris is located in two private town
houses and a former Art School accessible by public transport in
the residential area between the River Seine and the Bois de Boulogne.
One building houses students from Pre-K to Grade 5, and is close
to sports fields, a swimming pool, and recreational facilities.
The Secondary School is housed in two almost adjacent buildings
and is within easy reach of a diversity of recreational facilities.
